A Birthday Party!

I think laziness has to be the key word for this third pregnancy.  I just cannot bring myself to do almost anything, so when it came time for birthday parties it was an easy decision to skip the whole fancy customized party I usually love for a joint birthday party for both girls.  I did next to no planning, ordered pizzas and the décor included Cinderella and Bubble Guppies, with a splash of Princess Elena.  But I'm willing to bet Lyla and Evie will remember this party as their favorite since they were completely in control of those details.  :)

They had the best time playing and running around with friends.  And Evie only managed to eat about half the icing of her ice cream cake before we served it.  So much fun!

Valentine's Day Fun!

It's no secret that I love putting together a fun party, all things girly, and Valentine's Day.  Lyla has inherited the love for parties and girliness, so I decided to throw her and Evie a little Valentine's Day party for their girlfriends.  We decorated cookies, played freeze dance, ate pizza and unwrapped surprise goodies.  So much fun!

After the party L and E had to get ready for their daddy daughter dance.  They both chose princess dresses - shocking - and had very specific thoughts on what their hair and accessories should look like.  Girls after my own heart.  ;)

Waiting on a party to start is hard.

Happier with a little chocolate!

Freeze dance!

It's her party.  She'll cry if she wants to.

I don't know what this game is called, but you unwrap the saran wrap until you get a prize, then pass it on.  It was a hit!

We had a little impromptu girl band performance.  :)

Pizza!

We never got a picture together, so had to settle for a selfie.  :)

Dance prep!  Is there anything cuter than kids in robes??

Lucky dad.  Lucky girls!

Ice Cream Social!

I love having get togethers for our girls and their friends, but since both of their birthdays are in the winter I thought it would be fun to throw something casual together this summer.  So, last Saturday we got out our kiddie pool, mini jump house, and lots of ice cream and called it an ice cream social!  The girls couldn't wait for their ice cream party, but didn't quite understand why they had to wait for the actual party to eat the ice cream.  ;)

The day also happened to be Lyla's half birthday, which we didn't make a big deal of with our guests, but it was sort of a little nod to our 4 and a half year old.  The day was so fun with good friends, great weather, and delicious ice cream.  You really can't go wrong with that combo.  :)

Diggin' into that ice cream!

Homemade chocolate chip cookie ice cream sandwich!  Heaven.

Ryan was offended at the amount of ice cream I'd put on my sandwich and had to show me "how to do it right."

"Mooom, enough!"

I love this picture.  A teenage neighbor drew the one on the right.  The one on the left is Lyla's replication.  haha!
