Last Sunday after church we decided to skip naps and head out to the Carver County Fair. The fair is held in Waconia, a cute little town right on a lake that's surrounded by farms. It was the first time we'd been to Waconia so we drove through the downtown area and oohed and aahed over all the cuteness.
The fair was loaded with all the typical food, rides, and animals. We ate as much as we could, the girls begged to ride as many rides as they could, and we made a list of all the animals we'd have when we get our little hobby farm. So far that includes Silkie chickens, llamas, a highland cow, and a miniature pony. Basically all the animals that aren't good for much, but are so fluffy we could die. :)
Here are some pics!

The Zoo
One of the things on our summer bucket list was to take the girls to the zoo so we took advantage of the beautiful weather on Sunday and ventured out to see the animals. The first thing we ran into was a brand new splash pad. We had no towels, no bathing suits, no change of clothes but neither of them seemed to care. They ran around like fools and got completely soaked, only stopping for the occasional cotton candy fuel up.
Once we finally dragged them away from the water we actually did see some animals. Our zoo has a farm in it and that's always been Lyla's favorite part. We spent a lot of time with the goats - Lyla mostly put them in a head lock, which luckily only resulted in one finger bite.
It was such a fun trip. Love my crazy little family!
